Lark Hadley wit the FCC Enforcement Bureau

Lark Hadley is the Regional Director, Region Three, FCC Enforcement Bureau. Before coming to the FCC over 7 years ago, Lark was a broadcaster for nearly 40 years, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for radio Premiere Networks/iHeart - based in Los Angeles. His formal education includes BSEE, MBA, and PE registration. Up until recently he was the Chair/LECC LA County (EAS), and remains an active Reserve Deputy with the LA County Sheriff’s Department.

Lark's presentation will be a discussion and demonstration of new FCC complaint portal.

Chad Davis leads Nebraska Public Media Labs, the R&D unit at Nebraska Public Media currently focused on generative AI and game development. He also writes and publishes the weekly Public Media Innovators Weekly newsletter, covering the intersection of emerging media and public media.

Tips for the Broadcast Professional - Jeff Welton

With hundreds of transmitter site visits under his belt, Jeff has seen a few things and will attempt to share some of the challenges he encounters most often in this session. The content will cover tips from the areas of grounding and lightning protection, safety, IT security and whatever else comes to mind, so there should be a bit of something for everyone in this fast paced presentation. We’ll look at the problems and situations we all encounter and discuss ways to resolve them or work around them and to prevent them from being situations in the future and have some fun in the process!

Jeff Welton, has worked with Nautel for over 30 years. He is currently the Nautel Sales Manager for U.S. Central Region. Previously he spent 16.5 years as a Nautel Customer Service Technician, was involved in the 2015 MA3 field tests with NAB Labs and has performed hundreds of transmitter site visits and field calls. A regular speaker and contributor on broadcast engineering, Jeff has been recognized with the following awards: the 2020 NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award; 2019 APRE Engineering Achievement Award; and 2018 SBE Educator of the Year Award. He’s also contributed to the most recent edition of the NAB Engineering Handbook and performs several presentations a year in the area of broadcast engineering.

Multi Camera synchronization with arbitrary delays on the cameras as well as transcoding

Jay Gedanken of Media Excel has been involved in Digital Video since its commercial inception around 25 years, starting with MPEG 1 to the current technology H.265, often referred to as HEVC. His focus has been on encoding, decoding, and transcoding either for storage or transmission over a variety of networks, be it IP, cloud, satellite, terrestrial, or virtually any pipe. His background also includes systems design, systems integration, and installation, as well as Pro Audio and Live video production.
