ABSTRACT With synchronous links (TI, ISDN becoming more expensive and difficult to obtain, more and more broadcasters are turning to Ethernet connections – even public internet – to deliver their audio to desired destinations. This presentation will explore the basics of AoIP – packetization, latency concerns, lost and delayed data, etc. Then we will look at some of the challenges of delivering reliable broadcasts quality audio over open public internet pathways, and some of the new technologies that emerged to meet those challenges.
