SBE Chapter 47 -
DINNER Meeting
Tuesday, Aug 14th, 2012 at 630pm
Holiday Inn-Media Center Hotel,
Carousel Restaurant -
Meeting Topic
Subject - "Lets talk about the Emerging Industry Standard interoperable IP Layer 3 audio streaming format"
Speaker - Ken Skok, Telos Alliance (Telos Systems, Omnia Audio & Axia Audio)
Presentation Narrative -
Last year with Open AoIP and this year the new Livewire 2.0 Ravenna agreement has helped the industry get even closer to a unified standard. For IP-Audio to continue to grow more valuable, there must be an increasing number of networked broadcast devices. RAVENNA and Livewire are the two leading protocols in broadcasting. Together, we have 60+ technology partners whose devices interconnect. Our collaboration paves the way for products from both groups to inter operate, giving broadcasters more choices. We do this by utilizing IEEE and Qos standards and are actively participating with AES to develop an interoperability standard for high-performance media networking. The list of Ravenna established network partners is anchored by respected global manufacturers such as Nautel, ASI, Digigram, 25/7, StudioHub+, Genelec, AETA, and Neumann.
